NCPLH Courses

The provision of these services is governed by the Licensing Act 2003, which was introduced primarily to provide a more European style culture within the UK in relation to social activities. It has brought many advantages with it for those involved within the trade, particularly more flexible licensing hours, but has also afforded greater regulation by the authorities and has placed greater emphasis of responsibility on premises owners and operators about how licensed premises are managed through their alcohol licence.

This will involve people in the retail sector obtaining NCPLH Courses.

Licensed premises can include, Pubs, Social Clubs, Night Clubs, Restaurants, Takeaways, Off-Licences, Supermarkets and Entertainment venues. It can even apply to village halls, schools and community venues in some circumstances.

For those who are unfamiliar with the new legislation or are new to the licensing trade, making the necessary applications can seem daunting and given that the information provided on application can be challenged by a number of responsible authorities as well as the general public, it is important that applicants are fully aware of the procedures and responsibilities that they carry. A well advised application can save many problems in the future and can go a long way to evidence an applicants awareness of their responsibilities.

Think Licensing can provide professional advice based on practical experience within the licensing field, particularly in respect of alcohol licence applications, personal licence (NCPLH) training, premises assessments and in cases where it is necessary, legal advice and advocacy should a Licensing Committee hearing or Court appearance be required.
